SPRING 2019
Dear Mr. Freeman, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity in funding the Freeman Study Abroad Scholarship. I am very honored to be one of the recipients of this award. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Michael Imai and I am very passionate about entrepreneurship. I've built four companies over the past few years and will use the information that I learn in college to scale these companies over time. Currently, I am enrolled in 12 credits and plan to graduate from Shidler College of Business in Summer 2019. Thanks to your generous scholarship, I am now one step closer to achieving my goals. I'm excited to experience the Korean culture and see the way that they live life. I believe that there is a big difference between visiting a country and living in a country. When you visit on a vacation for a few weeks, it isn't enough time to truly immerse yourself in a different culture. It would be like trying to learn calculus in a few weeks! Living in a country for an extended period of time is exciting because you get to do more and see more. Receiving this scholarship motivates me to maintain my GPA and complete my degree. I hope that one day I will also be able to help struggling students reach their goals in higher education by assisting them in the same way you are helping me. I thank you for your confidence and willingness to help me achieve my goals. Sincerely, Michael Imai
